3rd Roadshow RDTM’22 on 17June at Jodhpur
JAIPUR: Domestic tourism will be main driver of tourism industry as it will take time for international tourists to come to India, said Gaj Singh, president emeritus, Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA).
Speaking at the promotional roadshow of Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM), 2022, which is set to be held next month, the former royal said the business-to-business mart is hugely relevant in the current circumstances. The mart is jointly organised by the department of tourism and the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism in Rajasthan (FHTR). Apurv Kumar, president of FHTR, said tourism, one of the largest industries of Rajasthan, has taken a major dip of more than 70% in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Post-pandemic, as the world returns to normal, there is a need to promote Rajasthan and revive tourism.
“It is not the sole responsibility of the government alone to promote the state. As members of the travel and tourism industry, each one has a significant role to play in this area because public-private partnerships are the way to revive the industry,” added Kumar.
The event is planned to bring tour operators and influencers of the industry from India through B2B meetings under one roof.
