4th Roadshow RDTM’22 on 22 June at Bharatpur
JAIPUR: Budget announcement for 2022-23 providing industry sector benefits to tourism and hospitality sector will prove to be a game-changer and accelerate investment and employment.
Giving industry status reflects the state’s robust focus on tourism and it will prove to be a game-changer, said tourism minister Vishvendra Singh at a pre-event roadshow Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) 2022.
The minister said tourism sector is one of the largest employers and its growth is key for the economy of Rajasthan. Addressing the tourism fraternity, principal secretary (tourism) Gayatri Rathore said MoUs and LoIs amounting to Rs 11,906 crore for 363 projects, which will generate jobs for 57,138 persons, were signed during the ‘Invest Rajasthan Roadshows’ .
Rathore said the state government has taken many initiatives like Rajasthan Tourism Unit Policy 2015, Rajasthan Home Stay (Paying Guest Scheme) 2021, Rajasthan Tourism Guest House Scheme 2021, Mukhyamantri Laghu Udhyog Protsahan Yojana (MLUPY), Rajasthan Eco Tourism Policy 2021, etc. which will all go a long way in accelerating investment.
The objective of RDTM is to promote tourism which is critical in current times given that foreign tourist movement is yet to pick up speed.
President of Federation of Hospitality and Tourism in Rajasthan Apurv Kumar said the sector is looking towards domestic market for business. “Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart 2022 comes at an opportune moment to serve as a common platform for interaction, understanding, and business generation for the associated travel partners. It will bring tour operators and influencers of tourism from India through B2B meetings under one roof.”
